A Roller Bearing is used in situations like conveyer belt rollers they have to hold heavy radial loads. In these bearings, the roller is a cylinder, so the contact between the inner and outer race is a line. This spreads the load out over a bigger area this allows the bearing to handle much heavier loads than a ball bearing. Although this type of bearing is not designed to handle much thrust loading at all. A variation of this type of bearing, called a needle bearing, uses cylinders with a very small diameter. This allows the bearing to fit into tight and awkward places. A Roller Bearing can be used in various types of engineering. Examples of its use are shown on the internet. They are also sold on line so any company can buy direct and save money at the same time. Although it sounds a boring piece of structure it is vital in many types of machinery that we all rely on. There are other types of bearing which are just as important for machinery to work properly.
