I broke down the other day on the way to take my children to school and I had to abandon my car in the closest supermarket car park for the day. My children and I had to walk to school and we were consequently very late. However, just as annoying was the fact that I had to walk all the way home. As soon as I got home I rang the local garage but, although they were only round the corner, they informed me that they did not offer a Car Collection service and explained that I would need to get the car to them. I could not believe that they did not offer Car Collection as I could not help wondering how anybody got their car fixed if they had broken down at the side of the road and were unable to move their car. However, the garage told me that most people were members of a car breakdown service and that these were the people who usually transported the broken down vehicle to the garage. Fortunately, in the end they recommended a private company who organised Car Collection who I telephoned straight away and my car was eventually delivered to the garage.
